In the menu below
are links to tutorials and problem sets covering aminoglycosides.
An important part of the infectious diseases section
of this course is to demonstrate proficiency in establishing
aminoglycoside dosing regimens according to patient-specific
pharmacokinetics.
Students will be given three opportunities
to demonstrate this ability. The midterm examination
will have a series of questions where calculations
will be required to develop the most appropriate glycoside
regimen. Students must score 100% on this section
to establish competence in kinetics and pass the ID
section of the course. Students who do not achieve
this 100% score will be given two additional chances
to pass this requirement, with re-tests given on February
28, 2005 and March 7, 2005.. A passing score will
be necessary to receive a grade for Phar 6124.
The tutorials and problem sets contain
many examples that are reflective of the questions
on the tests. If you can quickly and correctly answer
the questions, you should feel prepared for the pharmacokinetics
section of the test.
Available from boomer.org is is a
